💫 Strong Women, Strong Future 💫 Women’s Day Celebration 2026

Seva Chakkara Children’s Home celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March 2026 with great enthusiasm at our campus in Choolai, Chennai. The event aimed to honour the strength and achievements of women and inspire the girl children in our home to grow into confident and empowered individuals.

The celebration was graced by our esteemed Chief Guests, Mrs. Jeyalakshmi, Assistant Commissioner / Deputy Controller of Legal Metrology; Mrs. Marian Usha, Retired Headmistress & Correspondent of Bentinck Girls Higher Secondary School; and Ms. Elsy Wilson, Embedded Manager – Chennai.

The program was also attended by the management members of Seva Chakkara Samajam: Mrs. Gowriammal Velayudham, President; Mr. Damodhara, Senior Advocate & Vice President; Mrs. Lakshmi Ravichandran, Secretary; Mrs. Sukanya Ramesh, Treasurer; and Mr. Magesh Velayudham, Deputy Secretary, along with our dedicated staff members and children.

The event featured vibrant cultural performances. College students performed Parai and group dances, while the children of the home showcased their talent through a Silambam performance. Our staff members also participated with singing, poetry, and dance, making the celebration lively and memorable.

As a token of appreciation, gifts were presented to all staff members and college students who participated in the celebration. The event was filled with happiness, encouragement, and motivation, making the Women’s Day celebration truly meaningful for everyone present.
