On 5th September 2025, Seva Chakkara Children’s Home joyfully celebrated Onam and Teachers’ Day at the Girls’ Home premises with the enthusiastic participation of the children, staff members, and guests from Valeo India Private Limited. The event beautifully combined cultural celebration, community bonding, and appreciation for teachers, creating a memorable evening filled with joy and gratitude.
The celebration began at 4:00 PM with the traditional spirit of Onam, one of Kerala’s most cherished festivals symbolizing unity, prosperity, and happiness. The home was decorated with flowers, and a vibrant Pookolam (floral design) was created by the staff. The girls wore traditional attire and participated in cultural programs that included songs and dance performances depicting the story of Mahabali and the festive spirit of Onam.
The special guests for the day were representatives from Valeo India Private Limited, who visited our Girls’ Home to share the joy of the occasion. The Valeo team interacted warmly with the children, participated in the celebration, and distributed gifts and sweets to all the children. Their kind gesture brought immense happiness and encouragement to our children. A photo session was held to capture the beautiful moments of the celebration, symbolizing the bond between the children, staff, and the visiting team.
Following the Onam celebration, the focus shifted to the Teachers’ Day activities. The children took part in a creative session where they made handmade greeting cards to express their love and gratitude toward their teachers and caregivers. This activity encouraged creativity, teamwork, and appreciation for the dedication and guidance provided by their mentors.
The entire program was supervised and coordinated by Ms. Jessylara, Program Coordinator, who ensured that every activity was well-organized and enjoyable. The staff members actively participated and supported the children throughout the event.

The Onam and Teachers’ Day Celebration on 5th September 2025 was a joyful and heartwarming occasion at Seva Chakkara Children’s Home.
