ACTIVITY REPORT ON WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
Date: 5th June, 2025
Time: 4:00 PM
Event: Poster Making on Environment
Participants: Seva Chakkara Girls
World Environment Day, observed globally on 5th June every year, is a day dedicated to encouraging awareness and action for the protection of our environment. At Seva Chakkara Children’s Home, we believe that creating environmental awareness among children is an important step toward building a greener and healthier future.
In connection with this year’s theme, a Poster Making Activity was organized on 5th June, 2025 at 4:00 PM within the premises of our home. The program was coordinated and guided by Ms. Jessylara, Program Coordinator, who introduced the topic and explained the importance of environmental conservation to the children. She motivated them to think creatively about how they can each contribute to protecting the Earth through their daily habits and choices.
The children were divided into small groups and provided with chart papers, sketch pens, paints, and other art materials. They were encouraged to design posters based on the theme “Save Environment – Save Earth.” The girls participated enthusiastically, filling the room with vibrant energy and a spirit of learning. Their posters carried meaningful messages such as “Plant More Trees,” “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle,” “Say No to Plastic,” and “Keep Our Planet Clean and Green.”
Throughout the session, the children discussed ideas with one another, shared thoughts on how pollution affects our world, and expressed their concern about deforestation and climate change through their artwork. It was heartwarming to witness how each child interpreted the theme in her own creative way—combining colors, drawings, and slogans that reflected both awareness and hope.
At the end of the activity, Ms. Jessylara appreciated the efforts of all participants and highlighted the significance of such creative sessions in developing responsibility and sensitivity toward nature. She encouraged the children to practice what they had learned by maintaining cleanliness, planting trees, and avoiding waste within their surroundings.
Conclusion
The event inspired everyone present to reflect on their role in preserving the environment and reminded us that even small steps—like saving water, planting a tree, or avoiding plastic—can make a big difference in sustaining our planet for future generations. Through this activity, Seva Chakkara Children’s Home successfully conveyed the message that “The Earth is our shared home, and it is our collective duty to care for it with love and responsibility.”
