The Independence Day Celebration was held with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at Seva Chakkara Children’s Home, Choolai, on 15th August 2025. The event was organized to honor the nation’s 79th Independence Day and to instill in the children a sense of pride, unity, and gratitude for our country’s freedom and values.
The celebration commenced at 10:00 AM with the arrival of esteemed dignitaries — Hon’ble Justice Rajeshwaran and Hon’ble Justice Subramaniyan of the High Court of Madras, Mr. Damodharan, Senior Advocate, High Court of Madras, and Mr. M. S. Krishnan, Senior Advocate, High Court of Madras. Their gracious presence added immense value to the occasion and inspired both the children and staff with their words of wisdom and encouragement.
The program began with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with patriotic fervor. This was followed by a soulful Veenai performance (Prayer Song) rendered by the children, symbolizing devotion and gratitude to the nation.
Following the invocation, the children presented a series of cultural performances including Bharatanatyam, patriotic songs, skits, and dance performances that beautifully reflected the themes of freedom, unity, and national pride. Each performance showcased the children’s enthusiasm, creativity, and love for their motherland. The dignitaries and guests appreciated the children’s efforts and encouraged them to continue excelling in academics and extracurricular activities.
The entire event was supervised and coordinated by Ms. Jessylara, Program Coordinator, who ensured that every part of the program was well-organized and smoothly executed. The management and staff of Seva Chakkara Children’s Home provided full support, and their teamwork made the celebration memorable and successful.
After the cultural performances, sweets were distributed to all the children, and the guests interacted warmly with them, sharing inspiring messages about discipline, education, and service to the nation.
